What is EMslim?

Emsculpt is an FDA-cleared, noninvasive body-sculpting procedure that builds muscle and burns fat. It delivers high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) pulses into the muscle tissue, creating supramaximal muscle contractions that activate more muscle fibers than what you can achieve through exercise alone.

Am I candidate for EMslim?

Does the EMslim treatment hurt?

What is the downtime with EMslim?

There is no downtime with an immediate return to normal activities

Will I be sore after the EMslim treatment?

During a workout at the gym :

Different muscle groups are specifically targeted and the muscle fibres are damaged (muscle protein breakdown).

Metabolic stress is also caused by a build up of lactic acid and a drop in pH within the working muscles.

Following the workout :

a protein called mTOR stimulates muscle protein synthesis (healing), more filaments are added to each muscle fibre and the muscle mass increases (hypertrophy).

In a traditional gym workout, muscle damage and lactic acid often cause delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) lasting several days

Are the results from EMslim permanant?

The results following EMslim can be maintained in clients who continue to follow a healthy lifestyle routine. The fat cells that have been destroyed by an increase in fat metabolism will be permanent unless there is significant weight gain that causes residual fat cells to swell and increase in volume.

A top up treatment is recommended every 3-6 months to help maintain the clinical results.

What are the benefits after the EMslim treatment?

Does EMslim really work?

Can I get EMslim if I have an IUD? A copper IUD?

While this was not studied in clinical trials conducted, this topic can be discussed with one of our technicians during your consultation. Having an IUD, whether hormonal or copper, is not considered a contraindication but rather a precaution. HIFEM technology does not penetrate deep enough to be able to affect internal organs such as uterus.

How does EMslim compare to liposuction and other non-invasive procedures?

In contrast to liposuction or surgical options, EMslim is a completely non-invasive procedure. It does NOT require surgery, needles, anesthesia, or any downtime. It is the first aesthetic device that both reduces fat and tones muscle in a single treatment.

What if the patient has lower BMI and is interested only in muscle building?

Can I get Emslim if I have had a C-section? How long do I have to wait after a C-section to have eMSLIM?

It is advisable to wait about 3 months after your surgery to allow uterus to return to normal size before receiving an EMslim treatment. While HIFEM technology does not affect internal muscles like uterus, it’s a safe precaution based purely on physiological science to wait about 3 months to avoid any unnecessary if any uterine stimulation.

What are the contradictions for EMslim?

Patients that have electrical implantable devices like a pacemaker or internal defibrillator, patients with Copper IUD (Mirena is OK) or any other metal implants in the treatment area not candidates for this treatment.

What can I do to maximize my EMslim results?

It is very important to be well hydrated before EMslim treatments just like it is when your workout in the gym. Well hydrated muscle performs better, poorly hydrated muscle will cramp up and you will not be getting optimal treatment or results. So, remember to drink water, not coffee, before your treatment.

What exactly are supramaximal contractions?

Supramaximal contractions are the type of high-tension muscle contractions necessary to achieve optimal muscle growth. These contractions go beyond the highest amount of tension that muscles can manage on their own.

What if I want tones, not bigger muscles with EMslim?

Although the term “toned” is commonly used to refer to muscles, it is not actually a muscular state. Toned muscles typically mean muscles that are strengthened combined with a low enough body fat to have those muscles show. It’s very possible to have strong muscles while also carrying excess fat, which means those muscles are not visible. This is why it’s so common to pair EMslim with an additional body sculpting treatment like Cryoskin to further reduce excess fat. Many women worry that they will get “too big” when they focus on muscular growth—don’t worry. The balance of your hormones will prevent too much bulking, so you can engage in strength training or EMslim with peace of mind.

Can I get EMslim after having surgery?

It is always best to consult with your surgeon before doing any treatments in the area where surgery was.

It’s impossible to cover all areas and surgeries, but if you are interested in treating the abdominal area and recently had a hernia repair surgery or tummy tuck or appendectomy or c section, it is best to wait 3-6 months after surgery to get this treatment done.

Can I get EMslim after having a liposuction procedure? How long do I have to wait after I get liposuction to have EMslim??

If you had liposuction and have irregularities and/or missed areas of fat in the abdomen, you can get this treatment done after about 2-4 weeks after your procedure.

Is EMslim worth it?
